B&B DESCRIPTION
LOCATION: MEGHRI
In 2005 a dwelling house, located in “Poqr Tagh,” which was once a district of wealthy people of Meghri, was renovated and transferred into a guesthouse. The project was implemented by Meghri –1 Non-Governmental Charity Organization led by Ms. Armine Petrosyan. The house dates back to the second half of the 18th century and once belonged to the Melik- Ohanjanyans and the prominent Mezhlumyan family of doctors. The house has 4 rooms around the inner yard and stands out for its classical décor of doors and windows –mostly wooden, elaborately carved and arched. The interior includes decorated fireplaces and wooden ceilings. The “Arevik” guesthouse is focused on reviving the ethnographic tradition of serving traditional dishes. There is only a pedestrian road to the guesthouse –the short street with narrow old-fashioned houses ends right at the entrance of “Arevik”. A crafts workshop has been opened in a house next to the B&B.
